This all-in-one cultural program combines Japanese cooking, hands-on traditional activities, and a guided walking tour of the area — giving you a well-rounded and unforgettable introduction to local life in Tokyo.

🏘️ Part 1: Guided Neighborhood Tour

After lunch, take a slow walk through Yanaka’s charming streets with a knowledgeable local guide. Discover:

  • Traditional wooden houses and small temples
  • Artisan workshops and hidden alleys
  • Local snack shops and community stories
This isn’t a touristy walking tour — it’s a window into the “shitamachi” spirit of old Tokyo.

🍱 Part 2:Onigiri(rice ball) Making Experience

Start the day by making your own Onigiri(rice ball), making a lunch box filled with colorful Japanese home-style dishes such as teriyaki chicken or fish, tamagoyaki (rolled egg), sesame vegetables, seasonal and local side dishes, and more. You'll learn simple cooking techniques with support in English — no prior experience needed.

🎎 Part 3: Cultural Activities

After lunch, you'll enjoy short cultural hands-on experiences such as:

  • Writing your name in Japanese calligraphy
  • Tasting different types of Japanese tea
  • Learning about chopstick etiquette and seasonal customs
